A brand new benchmark
The expected outcome of the project is to highlight gaps in the current datasets that we aim to fill by proposing a new data collection that meets the highlighted needs.Â
One or more sites will then be identified, likely to cover three environmental conditions, i.e. running (rivers), still (lakes, ponds) inland and coastal (sea) water. A comprehensive set of multisensory data (imagery, positioning, etc) to be collected in terms of ground truth and data to be tested will have to be identified. The results and analyses expected to be derived from the collected data (e.g. multi-temporal monitoring, positional accuracy, radiometric accuracy, automatic benthic species recognition, to name a few) will also be specified.
